Guess who’s coming to town? All you ‘fashionistas’ out there are going to be seriously excited! We’ve got some massive international fashion brands coming our way at Macquarie Centre in North Ryde.
So I won’t keep you in suspense anymore! We’ve got H&M, UNIQLO, Zara and Gap arriving on our doorstop on the 16th October…there’s not too long to wait, but you’ll have to keep your excitement in check just for a couple more weeks!
H&M will be the first Sydney store, whereas the first H&M store was opened in Melbourne’s GPO building. UNIQLO will be New South Wales second store.
So Macquarie Centre is going on the map. It will be the largest suburban shopping centre in New South Wales, with a massive 138,500 square metres of floor space.
David Jones and Myer will be there too. All of these massive brands are in line to capitalise on the forecast that Macquarie Business Park will be Australia’s fourth largest business centre by 2031. There is no doubt that home owners will be able to benefit from this, as our properties will be in demand, taking our prices up.
But there’s more! Apparently another international brand is going to be announced in the next couple of weeks, and there’s speculation that is could be American fashion retailer, Forever 21. Their first Australian store was announced in November 2013 for Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall. And all these massive international fashion giants are coming to us, yes to us! That is truly awesome. Just take a look at the Macquarie Centre website to see all the fashion brands we’ve already got, besides the big guns moving in too. It is a shopper’s paradise!
AMP Capital Shopping Centres managing director Bryan Hynes told Property Observer that, “Macquarie Centre will be transformed into a leading fashion, lifestyle and leisure hub for Sydney with the first and highly anticipated H&M, the first UNIQLO in the city’s north and Zara will be the only store on Sydney’s north side to stock a full children’s range, complementing the strong children’s offer from H&M, UNIQLO and Gap. We have some grand plans for when our doors open on 16 October including two fashion shows curated by fashion industry experts to showcase everything we will have on offer at Macquarie Centre.” Certainly sounds exciting to me!
So we’ll have the big fashion brands here, but what else is the centre made up of? There will be a dining and café precinct, 5,000 car spaces, valet parking, porter shopping and free WIFI will be in the centre. Then as you probably know we’ve got Coles, ALDI and a refurbished Woolworths in the Fresh Food Market, including eateries Costi’s Seafood Market Macquarie, Inlakesh Living Foods and F&L Gourmet. We certainly have it all right here, no need to travel anywhere else at all.
Take a look at this video from Macquarie Centre which gives you a walk-through of this new mega shopping centre.
So, I’m certainly heading there on the 17th October to see all the excitement, are you? If you do go, let me know what you think, I’d love to hear from you.
