Well just take a read of this gem of a butchery that I’ve found and it’s right on our doorstep in the new section of the Macquarie Centre. Just writing about it makes me hungry as I’ve not tasted meat like this before!
This award winning butchery is none other than the Tender Gourmet Butchery and wow are they good.
I went and had a chat to one of the owners Paul Brady, pictured above, who is in partnership with Adam Stratton, and I was impressed to say the least. He got me so excited, that I couldn’t help but sampling the delicious delights that my wife and I, Louise, made for dinner that night. Delicious doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Paul originally hails from Ireland, came on holiday to our awesome country and he loved it so much that he decided to stay, and I for one am glad he did. He loved the people, the scenery and could see the opportunities that Australia could offer him. He wanted to pursue more and follow his dreams, and he’d found his home here. He’s been here now for 16 years.
He started being a butcher at the age of 12, yes seriously, and from the age of 16 he started working in a butchery until he got his apprenticeship. He took over Tender Gourmet Butchery, which used to be Tender Value Meats, 14 years ago and has made a big impact on the meat industry.
Besides all their gourmet meat and meals, they are very famous for their sausages, in fact so famous that they’ve scooped plenty awards, 200 in fact. They pride themselves on being the best sausage makers in Australia, and to add to it they’re gluten free too. They won awards at the Easter Show, sausage awards from the Australian Meat Industry Council; they grabbed 6 gold medals in 2012 and 4 gold medals in 2013 in Northern Beaches and many, many more. But I can truly attest to the fact they deserve these awards hands down, as these are the best sausages I’ve ever tasted in my life.
A sausage is just a sausage right? Well no, as these sausages come in the most unbelievable flavours like Beef Spinach & Pine nuts, Thai Chicken, Basil and Coconut Cream, Moroccan Lamb and Raisin and Sweet Chicken and Corn and heaps more. Honestly I didn’t know it was possible to make sausages in so many flavours and so good. I’m going to be shopping there all the time as I have to try them all out.
They absolutely pride themselves on good products, good quality and reasonable prices. As Paul said, “We’re always trying to raise the bar to take it that bit further.” There’s no sitting back here, as they are always innovative and constantly trying out new things to give their customers a huge, delicious choice.
You have just got to go there, it is unbelievable. Check out their website to get a taste of what’s on offer.
Let me know what you think about Tender Gourmet Meats, I’d love to know.
